1 bottle Laphroaig 40 Year Old. Distilled 1960 bottled 2001. In leather bound presentation box. One of 3300 bottles. 70cl. 42.4%. Level in neck. Good condition.
This is the oldest official Laphroaig ever released. Bottled in 2001 and aged for 40 years in European oak rather than American oak Bourbon casks which are more commonly used today. Not only that in 1960 locally grown barley was malted by hand in the distilleries own malting's. This unique whisky was produced and distilled under the care and attention of the legendary Bessie Williamson. Some people say she was the first genuine lady whisky distiller. Dedicated distillery managers continued to watch over the distillery, which for the last twelve years had been the responsibility of Iain Henderson.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
