From the archives. "Smoky toffee. This distillery is situated in Kildalton Parish and the founder met a sad end dying from burns after falling into a vat of pot ale. Between 1954 and 1972 it was managed by Bessie Smith who expanded the distillery to six stills. It retains its own floor maltings and produces one of the most strongly flavoured of all malts. Don't be fooled by the pale colour this is big - full of toffee, saltwater and smoke. Neat, the taste is sharp and smoky. Water brings out more smokiness, vanilla and Iodine. Preferred by some on the panel at natural strength this is for those who like Islay challenges." The original price for this bottle in 2004 was £46.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
