1 bottle Harveys Special Blended Scotch Whisky. Bottled circa 1940s. Spring cap with paper tax strip. Federal law glass molding on rear of bottle. Imported by Park, Benziger & Co, Inc. New York. No box. 4/5 quart. 86.8 proof. Level in neck. Wear and tear to label.
This is a very scarce old blend of Harvey's Special. The label mentions it's ''An English Market Blend'' and interestingly states Dundashill Distillery.
Dundashill Distillery is one of over 30 closed distilleries that was based in the city of Glasgow. The distillery was established in 1770 by John Harvey who was one of the first licensed distillers. Sadly Dundashill closed in 1902 and was dismantled in 1903. I believe the equipment is now being used at Port Dundas and the site is now a housing estate.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
