From the archives. "Fruit pastilles under the green-wood tree. From a distillery close to a graveyard, indeed it once had a ghost, this whisky is normally only bottled as a single by the distinguished wine merchants, Berry Bros & Rudd of St Jame's. Blenders rank it 'Top Class'. Pale straw in colour, indicating a refill white oak cask, it has a pretty closed nose with some malty mash-tun notes and a hint of turpentine. With water it opens into mossy green wood with a shake of fruit pastille sugar crystals. Mouth-cooling and lightly anesthetic with a sweet start and a bitter-ish finish." The original price of this bottle in 1997 was £37.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
