1 bottle Glenrothes 1980 - 1997. 17 Year Old. Scotch Malt Whisky Society 30.16. One of 288 bottles. No box. 70cl. 55.2%. 96.6 Proof. Level in neck. Good condition.
From the archives. "Hot mahogany shavings. This 'Top Class' Speyside was rare until recently; owing to the demand from blenders. Proprietary bottlings are also only done by the distinguished wine and spirit merchants, Berry Bros & Rudd of St James'. Mid gold and sparkly in appearance, with outstanding beading, the nose is sweet and rich, redolent of barley sugar, brandy snaps and fresh hardwood sawdust. With water these fresh woody notes become more pronounced: dry mahogany shavings and the flavour continues the theme in the aftertaste, after a sweet start and a slightly oily finish." The original price of this bottle in 1997 was £45.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
