From the archives. "Maritime mahogany. This distillery has been out of production for most of its 124-year existence, and its make has never been bottled by its owners. The Spanish oak cask has given it a rich colour of antique wood with magenta lights yet only a hint of mature sherry on the nose. Unreduced it is mellow and vaguely maritime; slightly oily, with armagnac and medicinal overtones. The addition of water brings out the sea smells (warm beaches, plastic ropes, tar.) The flavour is smooth and easy to drink, with some medicinal linctus and a shaving of wood; sweet to start, with some liquorice in the finish. A rare malt, perfectly matured with a delicious but unusual flavour. Original price in 2000 was £44.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
