From the archives. "Aniseed twists. Some malts drink exceptionally well at a young age. This is one. It comes from the 'new' distillery at Brora, whick took the name of the original distillery and is thought by many to be a classic. Drawn from an American barrel, which has bestowed a good colour during its short maturation, this is an excellent example of its product. The first nose is clean, smooth and well-balanced, with the phenolic-medicinal note (which is a hall-mark of the make) combining with youthful nose-prickle to lend an etheric effect, like aniseed twists. When water is added it fills out and becomes more estery (artificial blackcurrant, a hint of jam) and gains a twist of white pepper. Absolutely clean. The unreduced flavour is peppery and sweet and with water this fills out: full and smooth, with some pepper, icing-sugar-covered boiled sweets and a hint of 'Strepsil' throat lozenges. The overall effect is warming and slightly tingling." The original price for this bottle in 1998 was £37.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
