From the archives. "The distillery was established by the famous Long John Macdonald, on the slopes of the highest mountain in Britain, from which it takes its name. This cask is a curiosity: possibly a Spanish oak barrel. It has given a gorgeous ruby-rich colour to the whisky. The nose is densed and closed, with sultanas, raisins and hazelnut oil identifiable. These scents remain essentially the same when water is added, the raisins edging towards burnt currant cake and the oil leaning towards linseed. The flavour at natural strength is delicious - still rising, with a hint of chocolate and charred finish. With water it is not as sweet as one might have expected and finishes dry." The original price for this bottle in 1998 was £39.
Although a condition report is normally included in the lot description, we would recommend viewing/close inspection prior to placing any bids.
If this is not an option and you have questions beyond the offered description and images, please use the link "ask a question" to make specific enquiries or to receive a more in-depth condition report. Otherwise lots will be sold as seen and described.
Please note: due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit.
